Jeremy Bruns

JEREMY S. BRUNS is the Associate Organist & Choirmaster at The Church of the Advent in Boston MA. He also serves on the keyboard faculty of St. Paul’s Choir School in Harvard Square, and is an assisting organist at St. Mark’s School in Southborough MA. Bruns has previously held positions in Buffalo NY, Dorchester MA, Pittsburgh PA and other locations, including three years as Associate Organist of Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, where he worked daily with the late John Scott and the Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys. He has also served as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the School of Music at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches TX.

Jeremy is currently Sub-Dean of the Boston Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, and a member of the Boston AGO’s Young Organist Initiative Committee. He is also a member of the Association of Anglican Musicians, and an active participant in the Royal School of Church Music in America, having conducted the Tulsa Summer Course for Boys, Teen Boys and Adults (Tulsa OK), the Rocky Mountain Summer Course for Girls and Adults (Denver CO), and most recently serving as organist for the 2018 Massachusetts Boy Choir Course.

Mr. Bruns studied with David Higgs at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester NY, earning the M.Mus. and the Performer’s Certificate. A prize winner in major competitions, Bruns has been featured on the nationally syndicated radio show Pipe Dreams, and has accompanied the Saint Thomas Choir for regular broadcasts on BBC Radio and recordings on the Pro Organo label. He has been featured at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston SC, and has performed numerous recitals in the United States, England, and in Budapest, Hungary.
